Oncology Central Talks AI and the Future of Research with Deep 6's CEO

Our CEO, Wout Brusselaers, was featured on OC Talks, a podcast from Oncology Central, where he outlines the challenges most researchers face when finding patients for clinical trials.

Recruiting patients for oncology clinical trials brings a unique set of difficulties, which he addresses:

“In oncology more so than in any other therapeutic area, time is a decisive factor. Patients who have been diagnosed with a cancer do not have that much time. I mean disease progression can be quite aggressive. So you want to put them on a clinical trial as soon as possible. The other factor is that if you get diagnosed with the cancer probably, you will start some kind of the treatment whether it is radiotherapy or whether it is chemotherapy or another therapy very soon after diagnosis. That means you have only a very small window of time to identify a clinical trial for the patient and put that patient on the trial before we start a competing line of therapy. Once you start another line of therapy, most patients become ineligible for a clinical trial.”

Deep 6 Talks About the Future of AI in Medicine at SoCalBio

We had the honor of presenting at the third annual SoCalBio Digital Health Conference in Santa Monica, California. Eric Gildenhuys, our VP of Business Development, shared how our software is completely revolutionizing the way life sciences companies and research institutions approach and conduct clinical trial recruitment.

SoCalBio

Each year, this conference showcases game-changing innovations from Southern California-based healthcare technology companies. This year’s event focused on how to integrate cutting-edge technology (such as AI and machine learning) to leverage data to decrease administrative costs while improving patient wellness.

AI and Digital Medicine with NODE.Health in NYC

The Deep 6 AI team had the exciting opportunity to attend and present at this year’s Digital Medicine Conference at the Microsoft Conference Center in Times Square.

Our CEO, Wout Brusselaers, conducted a session on the lessons we’ve learned and ROI we’ve seen from implementing our AI driven software at hospitals around the country. He shared our philosophy of partnering with our customers during implementation and how we focus on value creation when working our software into their recruitment workflows.

NODE.Health’s mission is to combine the rigor of Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) with emerging technologies to help create evidence-based digital medicine. The education sessions at their annual Digital Medicine Conference focused on sharing information about pilots of new technology being conducted at leading academic medical centers to avoid “death by pilot” in the industry.
